Taiwan taxpayers request tax on justice – part 1

Each year on February 28, Taiwan commemorates the 228 Incident that took place in 1948. However, after so many years, what people care about is that there are victims, but no persecutors identified. Taiwan Finance officials, also called the Tax Gang, fabricate 228 Tax incident with similar mindset that refuse to explore the truth and cause the victims resentment.

Formed by legal experts, civil societies and victims, Tax & Legal Reform League had a protest on the morning of February 27. Nearly a thousand protestors gathered in front of the Ministry of Finance. They hold large masks of former Finance Minister Chang and current Finance Minister Hsu and charged them who had harm Taiwan’s economic situation by some terrible measures. Many college students who concern their future and careers also join this protest by a drama to request a justice tax system.

After a parade with Ironic cartoons, they gathered in front of the Ministry of Finance, condemned the faults they had made, and burned the posters of the former and current Minsters of Finance. Mr. Jane Yongsong is a tax victim. He accused tax officials of using their power and absurdly levying him a tax bill for the period that his company did not operate.

In addition, members of Tax & Legal Reform League demand the two Finance Ministers refund the over taxed NT$500 billion for the past four years. It is estimated that almost each citizen will have Nt$22 thousands back for the surplus. With this extra Nt$22 thousands, according to the Tax & Legal Reform League, the domestic demand will be boosted and economic developed
