Low Humidity and High Winds Contribute to Fast Moving Wildfire

The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument aboard NASA-NOAA's Suomi NPP satellite captured a visible image of smoke from fast moving wildfires along the Oklahoma and Kansas border around 1950 UTC (3:50 p.m. EDT) on March 23, 2016, and around 1930 UTC (3:30 p.m. EDT) on March 24, 2016.
