Cyclone Fantala passed over Farquhar Atoll in the Seychelles on April 17, causing severe damage. It is the most powerful cyclone ever recorded in the Indian Ocean, hovering between categories 4 and 5 from April 15 to 18.
As part of its participation in the International Charter "Space and Major Disasters," the Canadian Space Agency is providing RADARSAT-2 satellite imagery to mitigate the effects of this natural disaster.
