Flooding in Costa Rica – November 2016

Tropical Storm Otto caused floods and landslides in Costa Rica as it advanced towards the coasts of Costa Rica and Nicaragua. A map produced by Natural Resources Canada and derived from images captured by satellites RADARSAT-2 and Sentienl-1B shows the extent of the flooding in Costa Rica.
As part of its participation in the International Charter "Space and Major Disasters," the Canadian Space Agency is providing RADARSAT-2 satellite imagery to mitigate the effects of this natural disaster.
