FOWPAL Hosts Bell Ringing Ceremony to Promote Global Peace and Solidarity
January 29, 2025
As 2025 began with numerous natural and man-made calamities, global turbulence, and widespread anxiety, positive energy was needed more than ever. On January 20, 2025, marking the 60th U.S. inauguration ceremony, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, president of the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL), led 24 FOWPAL representatives to witness this historic moment, wishing all the best to the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. In conjunction with this moment, FOWPAL held a series of Bell of World Peace and Love ringing ceremonies to pray for world peace, encouraging leaders across nations to work for the well-being of their people and collaborate for the sustainable future of the Earth.
On January 21, FOWPAL hosted the bell-ringing ceremonies to bring powerful positive energy to the planet, foster hope, and promote global love, peace, and unity. Dr. Hong explained the significance of the bell ringing, saying:
"The pure sound of the Bell resonates through the heavens, breaking barriers as dawn unfolds. Conscience ignites true wisdom, and genuine love resolves all conflicts. Let us unite to overcome challenges, fostering shared prosperity for all. We pray for Heaven’s mercy, granting everyone the chance to thrive and live."
That day, three distinguished leaders rang the Bell and shared their heartfelt wishes.
- Ambassador Nancy Sam, Vice President of the ECOWAS Confederation Tourism Private Sector, wished for a world filled with love and peace, envisioning unity among all people.
- Diana Al-Hadid, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Washington, D.C., expressed her hope for peace locally and globally, stating, “I wish peace to prevail in our region and throughout the entire world during this year and the years ahead.”

To date, the Bell of World Peace and Love has been rung by 611 influential leaders from 156 nations, including 76 heads of state and government and 15 Nobel Peace Prize laureates. These leaders’ wishes for love and peace symbolize a global commitment to sustainability, solidarity, and harmony.
That evening, FOWPAL attended the U.S. Presidential Awards and Leadership Awards Dinner hosted by the African and Caribbean International Leadership Conference. FOWPAL mesmerized the audience with cultural performances, including the elegant Peacock Dance. The Peacock symbolizes selflessness and making positive contributions, as legend has it that the Peacock could ingest poisons and pollutants and release a fragrant aroma. Through this dance, FOWPAL inspired everyone to courageously transform challenges into positivity and radiate good energy to those around them.

In addition, FOWPAL presented a martial arts performance, showcasing the highest ideals of martial arts—to end conflict and promote goodness—motivating the audience to follow their conscience and take brave, benevolent actions to improve themselves and the world. The program also included an inspiring singing performance of "The Power of Peace and Love," encouraging everyone to harness the inner power of love and peace to create a better world.
Rev. Prof. Columbus Awung, a participant at the dinner, expressed deep admiration and gratitude to Dr. Hong and FOWPAL for their inspiring performances and efforts to promote love and peace. Many other attendees shared similar sentiments, praising FOWPAL’s ability to touch hearts and their dedication to global peace and harmony.
At this pivotal moment in U.S. history, as well as global unity for peace, FOWPAL’s bell-ringing ceremonies and cultural exchanges in Washington, D.C., served as a beacon of hope and unity, inspiring leaders and citizens worldwide to take actions guided by conscience and work together to create a brighter, more harmonious, and beautiful world.
