Authorities reported October 22 flash floods and landslides in northern Spain from heavy rains affected about 25,000 people and caused the closure of more than 40 roads.

The flash floods reportedly have killed at least a man in the town of Caldes d'Estrac, 40 kilometers north of Barcelona, and caused a man dead in Vilaverd, a village 30 kilometers from the port of Tarragona. Several people are also reportedly missing and undergoing search efforts from rescuers.

In the aftermath, it was recorded that rainfalls in southeastern Spain had claimed 7 lives in the Costa Blanca and the Balearic Islands. A similar tragedy in 2018 also recorded 13 people dead on Spain's holiday island of Mallorca subjected to heavy rains and floods.

The weather conditions have caused delays and diversions at Palma Airport in Majorca. Authorities also advise travelers to watch out for their safety and warn them to avoid any danger in flash flooding situation.
