The United States Navy began prohibiting service members from utilizing DeepSeek goods in any capacity in late January, citing potential security and ethical issues about their origin and use. Italy was one of the first countries to prohibit DeepSeek. Meanwhile, Taiwan claims that DeepSeek endangers national information security and has barred government entities from using the company's AI.
China's remark stunned the American markets. DeepSeek was produced for a tenth of the cost that Western competitor OpenAI spent on ChatGPT. DeepSeek was founded by Lian Wenfeng, a millennial math genius. He developed the AI program in just a few months and spent $6 million to make it a reality.
A growing number of countries and governments have prohibited DeepSeek. They have raised concerns about DeepSeek's ethics, privacy, and security practices. Hundreds more corporations have also prohibited DeepSeek. According to sources, the most severe risk is that data could be leaked to the Chinese government.
