On March 16, Australian sprinting sensation Gout Gout raced 20.05 seconds in the heats of the Queensland State Championships. This year, it is undoubtedly the fastest.

In the heats of the Queensland State Championships, Australian 17-year-old Gout Gout ran a world-leading time of 20.05 seconds. He came within 0.01 seconds of his own Australian record.

In addition, Gout startled the crowd by running 19.98 seconds in the 200m final. However, it narrowly missed the world record due to its performance under wind-assisted conditions.

Gout previously won the under-20 100m gold at the Queensland State Championships on March 15, clocking 10.38.
