In 1997, Tai Ji Men received an official letter from the Taipei City Government ordering its dissolution, but on the same day, it received an invitation letter for the following year's Dragon Boat Festival performance.  Tai Ji Men's brothers and sisters were outraged at the government's ruthlessness and disregard for fine cultural assets.
