Watercolor Artist Dao Lu Shares His Journey of Art and Healing at Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy
(June 1, 2024, Pasadena, California) Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy hosted a workshop on May 18 at its academy in Pasadena, where Dao Lu, a seasoned watercolor artist from Vietnam, shared his inspiring journey of art and healing with Tai Ji Men Qigong.
Lu, who began his artistic journey in 1975, has spent nearly five decades dedicated to watercolor painting, gaining recognition through numerous exhibitions and gallery ownership in Vietnam. Twenty years ago, Lu made a life-changing decision to immigrate to the United States. However, faced with language barriers and other challenges, he had to diversify his livelihood beyond painting. Despite these obstacles, his unwavering passion for art persisted.
A serendipitous encounter with Tai Ji Men Qigong transformed Lu’s life. Beyond the physical health benefits, practitioners of Tai Ji Men Qigong also attain mental and spiritual well-being. Remarkably, after practicing Tai Ji Men Qigong for just two months, Lu experienced a significant improvement in his kidney function, from 38% to 55%. This improvement is particularly notable because it is unusual for kidney function to improve with age, as the damage to kidneys is generally considered irreversible. Lu attributes his miraculous recovery to Tai Ji Men Qigong.
Lu sees Tai Ji Men Qigong as more than just physical movement; it is a cultural bridge that seamlessly connects ancient traditions with modern life. For Lu, Tai Ji Men represents a place where people pursue truthfulness and serves as a home where his heart truly belongs.
