The prime minister of Canada and head of the Liberal Party, Justin Trudeau, resigned on January 6. The nine-year era of Prime Minister Trudeau came to an end with his resignation.
Trudeau expressed deep sadness regarding electoral reform in his announcement. One thing he wishes he could take back is his inability to change the way Canadians choose their leaders by letting them choose two or even three candidates on the same vote.
Public outrage about rising prices, interest rates, and a severe housing shortage were examples of "internal battles" that the government had to overcome prior to Trudeau's tenure. After months of gridlock, the Canadian Parliament finally convened.
When the party chooses a new leader after a long, competitive process across the country, he will step down.
