Katherine Legge made her NASCAR Cup Series debut on March 9 at the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway in Arizona. She became the first woman to race since Danica Patrick in 2018. However, she was involved in a collision that ended her day prematurely.

The 44-year-old English driver spent 25 years in professional motorsports before being given the opportunity to drive a NASCAR Cup Series vehicle. Legge drove the No. 78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports. She became the 17th woman to participate at NASCAR's top level.

She was in 28th place on lap 216 when her car spun out after collision with another car. Her automobile turned and collided with Daniel Suárez. The team was unable to fix the automobile. Her race ended prematurely after 210 of 312 laps.
