It is not the first time in the history of the Olympic Games that the judges or officials decide the joint winners to share the gold medal, but it is the first time in the stadium of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics that a rival athlete proposes to share the gold medal with the other athlete from a different country. The men's high jumper Barshim and his rival Tamberi both had cleared 2.37m and were unable to clear the 2.39m even after three attempts. Later, Barshim, considering Tamberi's ankle injury, took the initiative to propose to the officials the possibility of sharing the gold medal between them. In the end, he decided to give up the duel (jump-off) and chose to share the glory. The scene of them embracing each other with tears left a touching scene in the history of the Olympic Games!
