On January 20, President Donald Trump set out to fulfill many campaign pledges within hours of his inauguration. In an evening speech on January 20, President Trump declared that he would also remove almost 80 disruptive, radical executive actions of the previous administration.
The White House website includes 46 presidential actions. The issues range from presidential actions on the border to federal building architecture. The first four were administration staffing announcements. They include Trump's Cabinet and sub-cabinet nominations, as well as his appointment of acting Cabinet and Cabinet-level executives and commission chairs. The remaining documents were 26 presidential orders, 12 memoranda, and four proclamations.
Meanwhile, President Trump announced that he would pardon almost 1,600 of his supporters who were jailed during a disturbance at the US Capitol in 2021. Another directive calls for the restoration of free speech and the prevention of government censorship.
