(June 28, 2024, Walnut, CA) - The Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy hosted a workshop on June 22, featuring senior Vietnamese watercolor artist Dao Lu, who shared his artistic journey integrating Tai Ji Men Qigong. The event attracted people interested in Chinese culture and painting.

Dao Lu has focused on watercolor painting for nearly fifty years, earning acclaim through continuous exhibitions and running a gallery in Vietnam since 1975. Twenty years ago, Lu decided to immigrate to the United States, where he had to seek new avenues beyond painting. Despite facing challenges, his passion for art remained unwavering.

Lu believes that his serendipitous encounter with Tai Ji Men profoundly changed his life. He realized that practicing Tai Ji Men Qigong not only improved his physical health but also enhanced his mental and spiritual well-being. Notably, Lu's kidney function improved from 38% to 55% after two months of practicing Tai Ji Men Qigong, a remarkable achievement given that kidney function typically does not improve with age and kidney damage is usually irreversible. Lu attributes this miraculous recovery to Tai Ji Men Qigong.

Lu views Tai Ji Men Qigong not just as a fitness activity but as a cultural bridge that seamlessly connects ancient traditions with modern life. For Lu, Tai Ji Men represents a place where people pursue truth and a true home for his soul.

During the painting demonstration, Lu not only showcased his artworks but also explained brush techniques using bamboo leaves as an example, patiently guiding participants in painting bamboo. Tai Ji Men is a place where people share ideas, talents, and experiences, helping each other grow.

Participants expressed gratitude for Lu's artistic expertise. One young Spanish immigrant, particularly interested in Chinese culture, stayed after the workshop to learn calligraphy in addition to painting bamboo. Lu's story highlights the power of cultural exchange and the connections built through shared interests.
