Starting the Lunar New Year Off with Conscience

February 10,2020

Hundreds of people gathered at the Lunar New Year Celebration hosted by the city of Walnut in California on February 8, 2020. Featuring a lion dance, firecrackers, artistic performances, games, food trucks, and music, the event attracted many families with children.

On this joyous occasion, members of the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) shared with other participants a new UN day--the International Day of Conscience. The United Nations declared April 5 as the International Day of Conscience last July. Many people happily showed their support for this meaningful UN day, including Hilda Solis, LA County Supervisor for the First District; Andrew Rodriguez, mayor of Walnut; Andre Quintero, mayor of El Monte; Walnut City Council Members Nancy Tragarz and Eric Ching; and Valerie Biden Owens, vice chair of the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware.

FOWPAL encourages everyone to celebrate the first-ever International Day of Conscience on April 5, 2020. It is hoped that people will all follow their conscience and do at least one good deed daily to make every day a conscience day! Please join the ranks of champions of conscience by endorsing the Declaration of International Day of Conscience at
