Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy to Present a Spectacular Cultural Performance in South Pasadena’s Annual July 4th Celebration

Pasadena, CA — In celebration of Independence Day, the Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy will deliver a remarkable cultural performance during South Pasadena’s Fourth of July Parade. This year's parade theme, "Hometown Heroes: Celebrating the Spirit of Community," is expected to draw a substantial crowd.

Prominent city leaders, including Mayor Evelyn Zneimer, Mayor Pro Tem Jack Donovan, Councilmembers Jon Primuth, Janet Braun, and Michael Cacciotti, Police Chief Brian Solinsky, alongside United States Congresswoman Judy Chu, California State Senator Anthony Portantino, California State Assemblyman Mike Fong, and PCC Board of Trustees President Kristine Kwong, are anticipated to attend. Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy joins dozens of other organizations to celebrate the nation's birthday.

As the year 2024 marks as the Year of the Dragon, Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy will unveil its magnificent Celestial Dragon, bestowing wishes for safety, health, peace, and prosperity upon the city and beyond. The 68-foot-long Dragon, uniquely crafted by Tai Ji Men, showcases the meticulous efforts of the shifu (grandmaster) and his wife, along with the dizi (apprentices), who handpicked bamboo for the Dragon's framework and sewed its exterior stitch by stitch.

The bamboo construction of the Dragon's frame presents significant challenges due to its weight. To authentically capture the essence of the Dragon, Tai Ji Men members dedicated their weekends over the past two months to practicing the dragon dance. Among them, 64-year-old Nunu Tsai has learned valuable lessons in patience, perseverance, and the importance of unity and collaboration through these practice sessions.

In addition to the spectacular dragon dance, Tai Ji Men’s young ladies will make a dazzling appearance with a fan dance, infusing the event with abundant positive energy. Through these performances, Tai Ji Men aims to extend blessings of peace and prosperity to the United States, favorable weather to California, and a strong economy to South Pasadena and beyond, hoping everyone's dreams will come true.

Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy warmly invites the residents of Southern California to join the parade and festivities, offering a chance to imbue themselves and their families with positive energy for the latter half of the year. This event promises not only a feast for the eyes and spirit but also a valuable opportunity to strengthen community bonds.
