“Senator Dave Cortese hereby recognizes and commends Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy for twenty-one years of service for providing education physical, mental and spiritual health in California’s District 15 and promoting the culture of peace with love and conscience worldwide,” wrote California State Senator Dave Cortese in a State of California Senate Certificate of Recognition that was presented to Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, the leader of Tai Ji Men, during the ceremony of ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love at Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy San Jose on August 26. Senator Cortese rang the Bell and made a wish “for peace among every nation” as he congratulated the academy on its 21st anniversary.
This year marks the 21st anniversary of the establishment of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy San Jose. Its members are excited to invite their loved ones, friends, Bay Area residents, and community leaders to join them in celebrating the joyous occasion in Saratoga Country Club (21990 Prospect Rd., Saratoga, CA 95070) on August 28 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Over the past two decades, the academy has been actively promoting conscience, love, peace, and happiness locally, nationally, and globally. In appreciation of its outstanding contributions to the communities and beyond, many leaders are expected to participate in the event in person, through a representative, by sharing a video message, or by sending a certificate of appreciation.
At the celebration, Tai Ji Men members will share how practicing qigong has improved their lives as well as their experiences of serving their communities and spreading love to the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tai Ji Men, in particular, shared with the world, including all 50 states in the United States, its Manual for Disease Prevention and Health Protection, as well as “5 Do’s, 3 Don’ts, and 6 Tips” to help people stay safe and healthy. Their concern for the world and efforts to calm people’s hearts have been widely praised.
Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy San Jose is thankful to the organizations and individuals in the Bay Area for working together to cope with the challenges brought forth by the pandemic in recent years and encourages them to continue collaborating to usher in a brighter future. Its anniversary celebration will be held in person and streamed live on its YouTube channels in both Chinese and English to allow more people to join the wonderful event. Everyone is cordially invited to join online. (English livestream link: https://youtu.be/y6DkRYjNDF4; Chinese livestream link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJU6Vq-j8fI).
A lion dance and a celestial drum performance will kick off the celebration. According to legend, the lion dance brings good fortune that lasts forever while the celestial drum performance is meant to inspire individuals to bravely face challenges and break new ground. Together, the drum performance and lion dance seek to alleviate people's fear and anxiety caused by the pandemic and to infuse their hearts with joy and peace. On this special occasion, Tai Ji Men will share the highlights of its recent journeys to Sweden, Turkey, and Washington, D.C. as well as its ceremonies of ringing the "Bell of World Peace and Love" during these trips and in its LA and San Jose academies. As of August 26, 2022, a total of 426 influential leaders from 128 nations have rung the Bell, including 49 heads of state and government, seven Nobel Peace Prize laureates, UN ambassadors, and other leaders from all walks of life, exerting their positive influences to make our world a better place.
The academy will present to each of its distinguished guests a copy of the book Embodying the Wisdom of Tai Ji: Achieving Inner Peace and Balance, which contains 55 uplifting true stories of Tai Ji Men members at various life stages. At these trying times when man-made and natural disasters have increased in frequency and intensity, readers may find inspirations in seeing how the antagonists in the stories applied the wisdom of yin and yang acquired through their years of qigong practice and self-betterment to overcome adversaries and walk toward a brighter future. To promote a culture of peace and conscience, Tai Ji Men invites everyone to endorse declarations on peace and conscience, such as the “Declaration of International Day of Conscience” (http://www.taijimen.org/lecture/english/sign_eng.php) and the “Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience.” (http://www.aneoc.org/endorse-2in1)
The event will also feature wonderful sharing by Tai Ji Men members of different ages about the benefits of Tai Ji Men qigong, such as spiritual growth, obtaining the wisdom of enhancing parent-child relationships, and significant improvement in health. The event will conclude on a peaceful and hopeful note as Tai Ji Men members present a song titled "A Prayer for Peace," encouraging everyone to pray daily for world peace.
