On March 6, 2022, approximately two thousand women gathered in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador, They were attending a parade ahead of International Women's Day. Their two major appeals were to legalize abortion and save women’s life from killings. 

Abortion may be a prison sentence in the country for any reason. It includes involuntary pregnancy or forced termination of pregnancy. The most serious can also be imprisoned for 50 years for aggravated homicide. 

Women in the Central American country request for themselves a safe life. More than 260 women were reported to have been murdered in the country throughout the last two years.
