Two masked men armed with knives broke into Rudbeckian High School in Västers, Sweden, and robbed computers from a class. As the perpetrators fled the scene, teachers pursued them. After attempting to stop the robbers, a bystander was beaten. According to police spokesman Tobias Ahlén, he was injured outside the school and was treated by emergency personnel on the scene.

Two armed individuals entered Rudbeckian High School in Västers at 13.30 p.m. on February 7 and robbed a school class that was in session. The students' computers were taken from them under threat of a knife. According to students at the school, the burglars fled with the computers in a bag.

During the escape, the robbers attempted to force a car from a private person near the city's cathedral. Two other people attempted to intervene in the car robbery. The robbers then assaulted a man in his forties. Officials say an investigation into robbery, attempted vehicle seizure, and assault has been launched, but no arrests have been made.

Although computers in schools have been stolen before through break-ins and from empty premises, the police in Västers stated that this was the first time they met such daring burglars.

Lars Jansson, the chief of police in the area, added that the school should be exempt from the violation and fear of robbery.

According to school principal Henrik Pettersson, who spoke to the newspaper Aftonbladet, the staff and students were shocked and upset to witness such a terrible event. Those who pursued the robbers, of course, have gained support and admiration.
