China's foreign minister has held talks with his Indian counterpart in New Delhi on ways to boost diplomatic ties between the two governments.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in the Indian capital Sunday and was greeted by Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj in the first high-level meeting between the two countries since new Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi swept to power last month.
Wang is also expected to meet with Modi before departing for home Tuesday.
India runs a $40 billion trade deficit with China and Modi is expected to seek greater access to Chinese markets to reduce that gap.
