Ocean Worlds Research Strategies Discussed

27 Mar 2017

PSI Senior Scientist Amanda Hendrix attended NASA’s Planetary Science Vision 2050 Workshop in Washington, D.C. where she led discussions on identifying ocean worlds science objectives and needed technologies, and on mission strategies to support a future Ocean Worlds exploration program.

The meeting, which brought together experts from across the field to examine the vision for planetary science over the next 3 to 4 decades, included discussion of Europa and other ocean worlds, as well as concepts for advancing our scientific understanding of all bodies in our solar system and in other solar systems. Scientists believe that the oceans that lie beneath the surface of icy moons could possibly harbor life.

PSI Senior Scientist Julie Rathbun also attended the workshop.
