Monsoon rains have caused severe flooding and mudslides in western and southern Sri Lanka, leaving at least 91 people dead and 8000 people affected.
The Sri Lankan navy and air force have been deployed to provide emergency relief to affected areas.
As part of its participation in the International Charter "Space and Major Disasters," the Canadian Space Agency is providing RADARSAT-2 satellite imagery to support relief efforts and help mitigate the effects of this natural disaster.
