Marina Ovsyannikova, an employee of Russia's State Channel 1 television station, interrupted the channel's main news program and ran to the scene of the Channel 1 transmission to shout: "Stop the war. No war". Extraordinary protest against Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Channel 1 editor Marina Ovsyannikova burst into the live broadcast of the evening news, shouting: "Stop the war. Don’t fight." She held up a sign saying: "Don't believe the propaganda, they are lying to you!” Its English signature reads: "Russians against the war". The news anchor continued to read aloud from her teleprompter in an attempt to drown Ovyannikova, but her protest could be seen and heard for a few seconds before the channel switched to the recorded segment.
